About the event

Rob and NEW Sinfonia are delighted to be continuing their partnership with the RNCM; providing emerging talent with the chance to conduct and play alongside professional players while bringing high-quality performances to North Wales.

Travel through a timeline of trailblazing composers performed by all-inclusive vocal ensemble NEW Voices, with NEW Sinfonia conducted by some the RNCM’s most promising conductors.

Our journey begins in the present day with Jonathan Guy’s simmering fast moving Scherzo which blends Welsh folk with contemporary textures to create a fresh invigorating soundscape. NEW Voices then joins the orchestra to take you deep into the romantic world of the Belle Epoch, with Gabriel Faure’s Cantique de Jean Racine and Jules Massenet’s Meditation (from Thaïs). Our musical travels end with the triumphant and uplifting baroque masterpiece Gloria by Antonio Vivaldi featuring our fantastic chorus and soloists Kathy Macaulay and Christine Simons.
