Rebecca Dale World Premiere

On Saturday 22nd September, I conducted the world premiere of Requiem Materna by Rebecca Dale with NEW Sinfonia and Welsh National Opera at the North Wales International Music Festival. It was an honour to be given this responsibility and to have Rebecca with us! This is a spectacular piece!  We called the concert “Requiem Reflections” and featured extracts from Mozart’s Requiem, Pie Jesu by Duruflé, 4:33 by John Cage and Spiegel im Spiegel by Arvo Pårt.

I must give special thanks to soloists Katy Thomson, Rebecca Afonwy-Jones,  Robert Lewis, Julian Close,  Anwen Elisa Edward Hyde and SVETA & SLAVA DUO who made for memorable concert

Big thanks to Ruth Evans and Jonathan Guy

At the heart of this performance was a chorus made up of amateur singers from across North Wales. To achieve such high standards and reflect North Wales is something to be proud of.
