NEW Sinfonia Come & Sing

On Saturday 11th March, I conducted NEW Sinfonia’s first Come and Sing event. This is a new initiative to widen our impact and open up NEW Sinfonia for even more people to access.  North Wales has a rich heritage of choral singing and the choristers valued the experience of working alongside a professional orchestra. We had over 100 singers signed up to the event held at St Giles Parish Church who came from across North Wales and the North East England region.

This was the start of a partnership between NEW Sinfonia and Welsh National Opera (more information coming soon!). To mark this partnership, we were joined by Soprano Zoe Milton-Brown of Welsh National Opera who sang Puccini’s O mil babbinio caro. The whole day was a huge success and we will be repeating this event again next year.

Finally, hearty congratulations to all the singers who sang all day!
